FAMILY JEWELS

SAMEDI
I heaved myself into work in the morning - I'd considered staying until 13:00
hours but quit at 11:30 as it made up a normal week's worth of work. I did
nothing of note really hen until later. Anna & I ventured forth into a suburb of
Manchester, Flixton, to the football club there where Delayed Promise were
playing. I haven't seen Andy or Hui for a while, and we had a quick catch up but
there was no time for a decent chat. They had a new set with a quick acoustic
session stuck in there which was pretty good actually, they got in to their main
set but we had to shoot off as Anna was shattered, she ain't used to getting up
before nine for two days in a row.
I got back and watched SAW (Anna fell asleep ), which people have been raving
about. I guess it was okay - I'm in no rush to see it again or the recent
sequel.
DIMANCHE
Another early start on the weekend, it's not fair. This time I had to drive Anna
& her dad, Steve to Doncaster and back for Ann's Grandmother's birthday - for a
flying visit that included a pub lunch (not bad at all). These journey's that
Anna keeps roping me in to are easy for her, she doesn't drive and generally on
the way back she catches up with her sleep, I'm sure I wouldn't mind half as
much if that was the way these trips were for me, I can't wait till she
drives...
I watched AC/DC's Family Jewels after, well half watched as I was going over
some French. It's old promo's, videos and live studio performances by AC/DC back
in the day, from the seventies to the nineties
LUNDI
The Quiz - with a Halloween theme... And first place, but joint first, we
decided on a tie breaker as opposed to sharing the prize (only twenty quid, so
what the Hell!?(pun intended)). We were played a theme tune to a 'spooky'
television show and had to guess before it finished how many episodes were
made... The tune was easy - 'Rentaghost' and we guessed thirty-two. The other
team went for thirty-six. the answer was thirty-four, bang in the middle so we
did share the prize after all...
MARDI
Francois - it was really the first lesson that seemed to drag in parts, I think
it because I was rusty. It was sort of amusing as we had to describe our
bedrooms and homes - this course is aimed at 14-16 year olds so much of the
examples were 'inappropriate'. I can't imagine the trouble if I had to share
with my brothers, Gareth & Gwilym again. It makes me think of that episode of
Red Dwarf V, Quarantine where they get 'tetchy'.
Although it meant I stayed up late I watched Batman Begins with Christian Bale.
The film was probably the best Batman film and not too bad...
MERCREDI
Strewth, 12 hours in the office can't be good for you... anyhow the Welsh Team
was named last night to face New Zealand in Cardiff on Saturday. waht with the
injuries you can't argue, too much that it with the selection, but as I'm remote
to the circus in South Wales I may be out of touch a bit. Still, I'm concerned
as New Zealand will look to start as favorites.
