RESURRECTION
It's all new or relatively new. The old hat is frizzbied with much vigour out of the window to the mean streets below.
Contrary to rumour my mobile number is now not changing - but I've a new work e-mail address and home address which you have to drop me an e-mail, to my hotmail account, to inform you.
There's such a gap - I may not bother, or ever be able to fill in the gaps - but I hope the transition period is at and end and the vibrant green shoots of recovery after a series of severe frosts can poke from the patchy dull ground.
Key to this is establishing a routine, some has fallen into place, yet some is to be determined.
Monday is quiz night at 'The Bridge', it's easy going, free, and entertaining as the quiz master, Ken, is a wannabe stand up comic I think sometimes. It's more pop quiz and is light of heavy general knowledge, which I'm actually better at unfortunately. First prize is £20 vulture (ok. voucher) for the team to share at said pub. It's paid for by a raffle (£1 a ticket) in which the prize is an opportunity to participate in 'Play your cards Right' after the quiz, the pot currently stands at £450!!!
Tuesday is French lessons. I've signed up for a French GCSE night class, it's an enduring three hours after work, so I think I'll skip going home in between as I might not be able to face getting ready after a sit down... The first one is tomorrow.
Washing Clothes and Shopping are on the weekend, not really exciting stuff. I'll have to fit a night in during the week for blogging, and another night for homework.
Anyhow the last few days, and it's too much to go further back than that. Friday night and Saturday morning and afternoon were quiet as I shopped and unpacked and lounged (only a bit), I'd been shattered all week (been doing overtime) and decided against overtime in the office during the weekend, despite the backlog as I was noticeably too tired to talk coherently at times. During the unpacking I uncovered a substantial Afro wig. I put it on as I went about my chores...
The rest of the people in the house were sufficiently taken with it that it was requested that when we went out that evening for Sally's (from the house) birthday and I don the extravagant headpiece along with appropriate peripheral gear - head bands, wrists bands (both crimson) with red Hawaiian shirt. Lee being local that evening decided to take us to some right dives in Sale town, by the time we realised where we were being taken, t'was too late, they were proper beer pits. Maybe not the best when you're dressed up - especially as I was the only one, Lee, Anna, Sally & Tim were in civvies. Looks abounded - handy I had my shades on - but no real hassle and eventually people came up to chat, in a friendly manner or to collect some 'High 5's!'
It was a late one as we got back in after 3am and Lee tried cooking and Anna tried playing the guitar. It was an unmitigated disaster - I went to bed.
Sunday was slow, Anna wasn't up untill the afternoon and I did chores. I had a while back a free DVD with a copy of the Sunday times but had never watched it as no one else fancied it - the period drama Howard's End with Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson et al. it won three oscars and wasn't bad at all but quite text book stuff for that sort of thing. You'll be no worse off for watching it, unless you avoid a Dentist's appointment or the like as it's over two hours long.
Bop It Extreme.... to be continued
